Poems

Back in July 2014, I wrote this poem when terrorism and war were on rage in Syria, Iraq, Israel, Gaza, Ukraine, Russia and Nigeria. It’s been 2 years and hardly anything has changed. So much bloodshed, so much misery and the only thing we can really do is pray for peace. Wish it could be a nightmare only…

I wish if I could share my heart…
And give it to the people who are tearing the world apart…
So that they can also feel…
The pain of a wound, beyond heal…

Streets are burning, houses are on fire…
Eyes are searching loved ones, screams are getting higher…
Wish God bless them with a heavy rain…
That can calm this blaze and sorrows drain…

Wish we don’t have these border lines…
No need for war and declaration signs…
No difference of country, color and religion…
Just love, care and a flying white pigeon…

Wish there could be a limit to this greed…
No more fight for land, captured innocents could be freed…
Wish there could be just a language of smile…
Wish hugs and kisses could be available in pile…

The world will be a better place…
If humanity won’t be just a phrase…
We don’t want more blood and scream…
Wish this won’t be just a dream…

I recall a quote from Chinese general Sun Tzu that “The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting” and I wondered how is that even possible ? Coz there are people who gloats on another’s failures and misfortune. But, then my Grandpa taught me to be an altruistic person and told me that only selfless Love can bring tranquillity in world.
Hope your word spreads, your wish comes true and people will find contentment through it. 🙂 (y)
